About Trey
A Builder Who Still Answers the Phone
Trey Huddleston started in construction in 1988 as a superintendent for a local builder. In 1993, he struck out on his own and founded Huddleston Custom Homes — and he's been building custom homes, spec homes, additions, and remodels around Austin ever since.
Today the company is still just two people: Trey and Mike Evans, the only two involved in construction, building, and bidding on every project. That's deliberate. Huddleston Custom Homes keeps a light job load — typically three to four active projects, capped around seven or eight — so every client gets real attention instead of getting lost in a crew of subcontracted project managers.
Most work comes from referrals: past clients, architects, and bankers who've seen the process firsthand. Over 30+ years, Trey has built a deep bench of subcontractors and suppliers, so no single phase of a project depends on any one crew or vendor.
